Forster’s work includes objects, installations, paintings and video. The topics of the work revolve around the complex themes of appreciation and mindfulness: those between human as well as between human and nature. By changing the points of view, the works tend to surprise the viewer with unique, inspiring, sometimes provocative perspectives. Forster’s work method is influenced by the love for solid artisanal techniques in combination with unusual but mundane materials. The materials are extracted out of their usual context and are placed in surprising new constellations.
Recently Forster’s focus lies in using colourful found materials to create something new by following own rules of aesthetic and a profound way to conquer space. Besides those rather objective guidelines Forster includes her impressions of current societal and political questions within her work.
Katharina Forster studied at the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Cape Town, South Africa, where she lived and worked for several years. It is here where she initiated, coordinated and curated some unconventional exhibitions with other artists outside the usual white cube. She relocated back to Berlin where she works in her studio in Werder (Havel).
Nicole Heinzel was born to German parents who had emigrated to Bengasi, Libya in 1969 at the start of the Revolution. After living in Iran and in Trinidad and Tobago, the family moved to Scotland in 1978, where the artist spent two decades of her life. Heinzel studied art, graphic design and photography at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design / Dundee University. After seven years in London, and fifteen years in Atelierhaus Mengerzeile Berlin the artist moved to the Vulkanfiberfabrik in Werder (Havel) in 2018.

About sense of possibility

Doris Sprengel is an adventurer on the trail of a deeper understanding of life on earth. She researches, collects, documents and quotes, investigates what she finds and invents new things. The botanical kingdom is the model for her inventions, from which structures and growth principles can be worked out and derived. Doris Sprengel studied German and Romance languages and literature in Heidelberg and Oaxaca, Mexico and fine arts in Berlin. She holds a Magister Artium degree and a postgraduate scholarship in art.

Julia Brömsel wurde 1980 in Schlema geboren. Als Tochter von Künstlereltern lernte Sie schon früh und ganz natürlich mit verschiedenen Materialien spielerisch umzugehen. So begleitete die Malerei Brömsel schon von den jüngsten Jahren an. Die ersten Ausstellungen hatte Sie mit 17 Jahren. Nach erfolgreichen Abschluss Ihrer Schauspielstudiums tourte Sie mit der Wandertheatergruppe Ton und Kirschen durch die Welt. 2008 machte Brömsel sich selbständig mit Ihrer Malerei und gründete 2010 die Ateliergemeinschaft SCHOLLE 51. Julia Brömsel malt hauptsächlich auf alten gefundenen Untergründen. Landkarten, Stadtplänen aber auch alte Stickmuster-bögen oder Fotos. Brömsel lässt sich von den vorhandenen Strukturen inspirieren und verbindet so Untergrund und Figuren auf humorvolle Weise.
Heike Buchfelder founded the label pluma cubic in 2005. She studied architecture at the University of the Arts Berlin and at the Oslo School of Architecture. Today her design collection is distributed internationally.

Born 1956 in Lucerne, Switzerland, lives in Zurich/CH and Berlin. Brunner’s art installations favour ephemeral materials, and his contextual art projects combine different medias including social process from digital communication into real physical spaces. Brunner lectures at several Art Schools in Switzerland and Germany. He is currently Professor of Sculpture at Weissensee Academy of Art Berlin.
Previously Brunner was Chairman of the Fine Arts Motion Graphic program at NYIT, New York, Institute of Technology, in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Professor of the Art Project department at Muthesius Academy of Architecture, Fine Art and Design in Kiel, Germany. He was also the initiator of the Virtual Campus www.artknowledge.net. Brunner has a degree in Architecture from ETH Zürich and an MFA in Photography from the Art Academy in Kassel, Germany.

We are an independent record label, and event, Tropical Diaspora®️ Records has as its main focus the production of vinyl records of the Afro Diaspora and Native cultures.
The logo of the company perfectly expresses this goal. It represents a woman in the shape of the Atlantic Ocean whose hair symbolizes the sea currents that brought African populations from Africa into the Americas and still guide today thousands of immigrants ashore. These stories of diasporas forced by enslavement or for economic reasons, fleeing wars and poverty, are the stories that we at Tropical Diaspora®️ Records are interested in.
Wouter Osterholt (1979, Leiden, Niederlande) ist ein Künstler und lebt in Berlin. Seine Arbeit ist ortsspezifisch und kontextspezifisch und manifestiert sich entlang der Bruchlinien und Bruchstellen unserer (politischen) Landschaft, wo soziale und ökologische Ungerechtigkeiten, Konflikte oder Probleme zutage treten. Er bedient sich häufig einer Methodik der Rekontextualisierung, indem er vorhandenes Material wie Gebäude, Denkmäler, Skulpturen, Rituale oder Archivmaterial wiederverwendet. Sein Ziel ist es, Politik wieder in den öffentlichen Raum zu bringen und die (Un-)Möglichkeiten alternativer Ideen zu testen, die die bestehende Hegemonie in Frage stellen. Osterholt erwarb seinen Bachelor-Abschluss in Bildender Kunst an der Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (2001). Lisa Arens is an abstract artist working in Werder Havel, Germany.
Her work explores the tension between intuitive painting and structured reassembly. By deconstructing her own materials and joining fragments, she creates a dialogue between spontaneous marks and deliberate construction.
Statement
In my work, I explore materiality and the fragments of our surroundings. Shaped by my studies in textile technology and my work as a photographer, I combine the observation of light and surface with the interplay of layering and texture.
Deconstruction is at the heart of my process: abstract photographs as well as intuitive paintings on canvas are broken down into fragments and reassembled. Through sewing, gluing, and layering paper and canvas elements, I create works ranging from multifaceted collages to minimalist arrangements.
It is a process-oriented play with depth and structure, where fragments merge to form a new unity.

Statement
In meiner Arbeit untersuche ich die Materialität und die Fragmente unserer Umgebung. Geprägt durch mein Studium der Textiltechnologie und meine langjährige Arbeit als Fotografin, verbinde ich die Beobachtung von Licht und Fläche mit dem Zusammenspiel von Schichtung und Textur.
Der Kern meines Prozesses ist die Dekonstruktion: Sowohl abstrakte Fotografien als auch intuitive Malereien auf Canvas werden in Fragmente zerlegt und neu zusammengesetzt. Durch das Vernähen, Kleben und Schichten von Papier- und Leinwandelementen entstehen Arbeiten, die von vielschichtigen Collagen bis hin zu minimalistischen Anordnungen reichen.
Es ist ein prozessorientiertes Spiel mit Tiefe und Struktur, bei dem aus Fragmenten eine neue Einheit entsteht.
